The Progressive lenses are those lenses which have no-line multifocal eyeglass lenses that look exactly like the same as single vision lenses. In other words, progressive lenses will help you see clearly at all distances without those annoying (and age-defining) "bifocal lines" that are visible on bifocals and trifocals.
Progressive lenses have 3 prescriptions in the 1 pair of glasses. That allows patients to do close-up work (like reading a book, newspaper), middle-distance work (like computer work), or distance viewing without needing to change your eye glasses. They're sometimes called multifocal lenses.
Benefits of Progressive Lenses
With the progressive lenses, you won't need to have more than one pair of glasses with you. You don't need to change between your reading and regular glasses.
Vision with the progressives lenses can seem natural. If you switch from viewing something up close to something far away, you won't get a "jump" like you would experience with bifocals or trifocals. So if you're driving, you can look at your dashboard, at the road, or at a sign in the distance with a smooth transition.
They look like regular glasses.
